Shanghai Museum

Hailed as one of China’s ‘Top 3’ museums (alongside Palace Museum in Beijing and Nanjing Museum), Shanghai Museum showcases more than 120,000 precious Chinese artworks and archaeological findings in 11 state-of-the-art galleries and three special exhibition halls encircling an impressive cylindrical atrium.

China Art Museum

China Art Museum in Pudong is housed in a spectacular red crown-shaped structure that was originally the China Pavilion of World Expo 2010. Covering approximately 39 acres (16 hectares), it is one of the largest museums in Asia. Explore art through China’s modern history in 27 exhibition halls. We recommend starting your visit at the ‘49-meter’ floor.

Site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China

Within the fashionable Xintiandi enclave, a two-story traditional ‘Shikumen’ (stone-gated) building has been preserved as a small but fascinating museum. Completed in 1920 as the residence of a Communist Party member and his brother, it was forged in history when 13 members secretly held the first National Congress of the Communist Party of China here on 23 July 1921, marking the birth of the Communist Party.

Shanghai Changfeng Ocean World

Just five minutes’ drive from the hotel, the 10,000sqm water wonderland showcases more than 300 varieties of aquatic wildlife beneath Changfeng Park lake. Guests of all ages will be enchanted by the White Whale Show and Penguin World.

Shanghai Zoo

Yuyuan (Yu Garden)

With a history stretching back more than 400 years, Yuyuan (Yu Garden) is the most celebrated classical Chinese garden in Shanghai. The garden is located in the Old Town, not far from the Bund. It is typical of the gardening art from the South Yangtze River region, and is famed as "an architectural miracle in South China".

The Bund

A Shanghai icon, The Bund is a magnificent promenade of heritage stone mansions lining the waterfront. Its vantage facing the modern skyline of Pudong across the Huangpu River makes it even more jaw dropping. Tianzifang has been transformed from old factories and classic stone-gated homes into an artsy area housing an eclectic collection of bars, cafes, craft shops, design studios, galleries and boutiques. The narrow lanes become crowded at weekends.
